The Hangover – DVD Reviewed by Tyler – 2.5 stars

Well well well, here we are… The movie that finally pushed me to start writing reviews on what to go see and what not to go see. This movie had so much hype about it that not going to see it would have made you a complete Ra-tard. HOWEVER!! This movie was nowhere near as good as it claimed to be, and to the people who say it was better than Old School…You’re dumb! Of all the people in the last few months that I have met that have said that, not one could give me 3 quotes from The Hangover and yet all of them could recite ½ if not more of Old School.

The Hangover did have its funny moments, but it was just trying so hard to make it happen all the time. For the first 45 minutes of the 1 hour 40 min movie I was bored. It had a few “ha-ha” moments, but nothing overly funny. Towards the end I started to laugh a bit more, right around the time the Asian guy jumped out of the trunk. The movie just felt as if they took Harold and Kumar and tossed in a little Road Trip 10 years later.

This move was forced to be funny which makes it not very funny at all, and I think the big reason (and you may not agree) so many people liked it was because the over-hype the movie got. Anyone that disagreed with the movie became an outcast, thus making the people who watched it after the first group of people even more worried to speak their mind for fear of not going with the flow of the crowd.

Well, I say this movie is not worth any of the hype it got from its own marketing department or from a bunch of people too worried to disagree with the norm. It is not an overly funny movie and because it tries so hard to be funny, it just isn’t….Oh and why is the guy who is suppose to stay away from schools and chucky cheese in charge of the baby? I can only assume from that line outside the school that he is a child molester or something…That’s very funny (yes, sarcasm).

The Hangover is a fun movie trying to be funny, and yes its gets a few laughs. But it’s not Old School.

2.5 Stars*

*Lots of over-hype and 100 mins long = TV special.

Oh and one last thing, for those of you who wear the t-shirt with the baby on the front, or dressed up as the guy with the baby on your front for halloween…You are all douchebags.
